Fat Free Virtual Burritos

I didn't get to have a real burrito today BUT my friend downloaded Scott Pilgrim on her PS3 and I was able to enjoy a virtual burrito through my avatar (Kim).

Basically you walk around, beat people up, and take their money. You can pick up items (e.g. bottles, trash cans, baseball bats, snow balls) and throw them, as well as go into little stores ("mystery shop," Dee's Tex Mex, book store) to purchase items that will help your character advance. Beating the boss was near impossible though because he had demons protecting him, throwing fire balls at us and.. we died.

I am curious to check out the movie now. Maybe this weekend. New post coming soon - ate at a few good places lately.

Urban Rustic: More than just an Oxymoron

I ordered Urban Rustic from a few days ago - it was really good!

I got the Shredded Chicken Burrito for $7, along with a Black Cherry Boylan Soda. It was really filling, so it lasted me like two meals!

Groupon: Fastest Growing Company in Web History

I just read an article on Forbes about how Groupon is the fastest growing company in web history! I am pretty happy for them, as I am a Groupon member myself : )

Basically, you pick which city you would like to receive deals from and insert your email address. Every day you'll get an email with the deal of the day, which could include anything from spas to Italian food and bars to Singles events. You only have a day to redeem, so you better act quickly! The more people to redeem, the better the discount!

I've actually been waiting for a good deal for a Mexican restaurant, but I haven't noticed any lately. Sign up for Groupon Brooklyn and let me know if you come across any! There's also a Groupon Queens if you're interested - along with a ton of other cities for you non-New Yorkers.

I Got the Goods

I know that this is non-burrito/mexican related, but I thought I'd mention a couple of BBQ places I've tried recently.

1. Hill Country

Great barbecue place - plus I got to watch drunk people sing karaoke. What better do I have to do on a Tuesday night?! 2 for 1 Specialty Cocktails were good - I had the Texas Rose, which was pretty much like a cranberry vodka.

My friend and I split the "Pitmistress," which included a pork spare rib, chicken, cornbread + a side (we chose Sweet Potato + got an extra side of Mac & Cheese). Absolutely amazing! Probably one of the best pieces of cornbread in my life.

If you plan on going, I have to note that they do have a very strict "ticket" policy. Basically, you sit down and they give each person a ticket. You have to bring the ticket up to the buffet with you and let the servers know what you want. They mark it down and then you have to bring the ticket back to the table for the waitress to pick up. I'm pretty sure you have to face major consequences if you lose the damn thing.

Karaoke looked like a lot of fun - but unfortunately the list was full before I got to sign up!

2. Goods

I am not really sure if you'd consider Goods a restaurant because... they serve you from a truck! The food was good! I got one of the specials: a Pulled Pork Sandwich with Green Cabbage Cole Slaw. I would definitely go back, but next time I'd like to try breakfast / brunch : )

One thing to note: They only accept Cash. I wish I had known that before I went there, but it was very inexpensive. Only $6.25.

I really liked the menu that they included in my take out bag (see below). The truck in the photograph is the actual place.

Ooh I wanna be there.. in my CITI

Today was my first trip to Citi Field.

Unfortunately I had one too many ShackMeisters so I cannot recall vivid details from the night, but I can say that it was a beautiful stadium.

If you are unfamiliar, you can get ShackMeister Ale at Shake Shack. It is brewed by Brooklyn Brewery and it complements any ShackBurger (American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, ShackSauce) very well.

I really like Shake Shack, but I swear there is always a line! Regardless, I'll definitely have it again.

By the way - the Mets beat the Diamondbacks 5-4
